Training programmes cover risk management, value management, planning and control, Quality management, modern methods of construction, sustainable development, supply chain management, innovations and knowledge management in organisations, and mental health & wellbeing. Have developed several policy documents and guide for the construction industry Published several articles and position papers in differing areas of the construction industry and the built environment in journals, magazines.
  • Participated in several leadership discussions on a host of areas affecting the construction and built environment (e.g. procurement, quality, safety. Industry 4.0 careers; mental health, training, unfair payments; equality, diversity, and inclusivity; women in construction; attracting the younger generation into construction and engineering; and improving the image of the construction industry.
  • Member of Local and Regional Groups: Leeds Learning Alliance; Leeds Anchor Group; Leeds Academic Health Partnerships. Chair (and a member) of number government commissions and panels to do with the construction industry and the wider built environment.
  • Chair of the Working Group – WG10 (Project Management Competences) of the Construction Strategy Group; Part of the Group Developing Competencies for Construction Professions [ Dame Judith Hackitt Report – Building A Safer Future] in the wake of the Grenfell Fire Disaster ( On 14 June 2017, a high-rise fire broke out in the 24-storey Grenfell Tower block of flats in North Kensington, West London, UK -  at 00:54 BST; 72 people died, including two who later died in hospital.
